Lovell Felix · Infrastructure & reliability

I build infrastructure that isn't supposed to be interesting.

I'm Lovell. I work on large-scale Linux platforms, most recently on the configuration delivery system for a fleet of more than 500,000 production hosts, and the operational practices around it.

My work sits where platform engineering meets operations, safe rollouts, observability, incident response, and the migration of legacy systems that can't afford a maintenance window. This site is where I keep field notes, selected work, and a few older projects I still maintain for historical reasons.

01 · Configuration systems

Fleet-scale configuration delivery

Design and operation of the system that reconciles desired state with running config on 500K+ Linux hosts. Drift detection, convergence, rate-limiting, and the operational discipline of not waking people up at 3 AM.

02 · Change safety

Deployment safety and rollout governance

The safety layer that makes safe deployment the default path, not something that requires heroics, spans canary stages, blast-radius controls, automated rollback, and freeze-window enforcement.

03 · Reliability practice

Observability and incident response

OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Splunk, and KQL-based investigation. SLOs and error budgets for the services that matter most. Postmortems that produce durable defaults, not paperwork.

04 · Modernization

Stateless modernization

Removing node-local state from services so they can restart on any available host without data loss. Recovery-oriented design as the foundation for any later Kubernetes conversation.
