Why it exists
Grenada is a small island nation with a diaspora spread across the US, Canada, the UK, and beyond. Staying connected to local radio, news, and cultural programming is genuinely difficult when you're not on the island.
Grenadian Buzz was built to bridge that gap. It aggregates local Grenadian radio stations and news sources into a single mobile app, so anyone — in St. George's or in Dallas — can tune in.

What I learned
Building for a specific cultural audience taught me that product decisions get sharper when you know exactly who you're building for. The constraints of mobile streaming, unreliable data connections, and Android fragmentation were real engineering problems disguised as a "simple radio app."
On the technical side: working with streaming protocols, managing audio playback states, and dealing with variable network quality on mobile. On the product side: understanding what features matter to people who just want to hear home.
Status
The app is still on the Play Store and still serving a small but real audience. Maintenance-only at this point — no major feature work planned, but still useful for the people who use it.
